WIMBLEDON

THE FORCES AT PLAY

I was asked to develop an immersive experience concept for Wimbledon, using footage from the Wimbledon library and newly created video content to build anticipation and excitement for visitors waiting to enter the Championships.

The idea was to turn the queue itself into part of the Wimbledon experience. Taking guests on a short sensory journey through some of the moments, characters and traditions that make Wimbledon iconic.

This is one example of the experience: a 20-second immersive walkthrough, using a combination of dynamic video, sound, movement and sensory effects to create a sense of being inside the action. From the preparation of the grounds, to the serve, the crowd and the celebrations.

My role was to develop the big creative idea, experience concept and storytelling, then translate that thinking into a presentation that was production-ready for the next stage. I mapped out the content, sourced and referenced the required footage, developed the sensory and technical possibilities, and created the keyline and storyboard so the production team could understand the experience and explore the most effective ways to build it and cost it.
